The Popular Show Season Four Unveils the Soldiers Group
Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, fiends, and dark forces growing in strength within the urban setting.
Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of characters who will split off from the main group to embark on their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might look mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to head next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise started the story’s plot—used the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his debts and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a individual motive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as key figures in the influential clan could enable the party reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This means them little choice but to travel to the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
Future Episodes
From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Questers and Strategists tables.
Viewers can look forward to learning which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on next week.
